Olio connects neighbours with each other and with local shops and cafes so surplus food and other household items can be shared, not thrown away.

Users simply need to upload a photo and description of the food to the app, and state when and where it is available for pick up.

The venture already has over 500,000 users, and in July 2018 Olio announced it had raised a $6 million Series A funding round with investors including Accel and Octopus Ventures.
