You Made the Index. What Next?

It feels like Disrupt SW comes earlier every year… surely it was only yesterday we were booking dinner and drinks and preparing banners, lights and speeches for the region's best disrupter event.

But in reality it's been an astonishing year. Just to stay in our tech sector – the envy of many other regions – we have…

  • seen Bristol named in the top 10 tech cities in Europe

  • been identified as a bona fide tech cluster with over 50,000 employed

  • established many new tech businesses which punch above their weight

Much of this is either in partnership with, or as a direct result of a relationship with our region's excellent universities and colleges. That relationship alone demonstrates why tech and the South West are now synonymous.

Coming up…

Thinking back to that last event, for the first time a light was shone on those businesses in our region which create value in new ways. It also showed what tremendous strength-in-depth we have in that area.

But – like those on the shortlist – we want to be so much more. This time around we want to use the Disrupt SW brand as a gateway to identifying businesses which we can help in a collaborative way.

Over the years, Foot Anstey have developed a network of relationships in the region and across the UK. A network which we would be more than happy to offer up to this year's shortlisted businesses.

They may also have concerns which we are in a strong place to help with, be that employee diversity, access to good quality advice and creating a platform from which investment flows or marketing would prove valuable.

It's about us and our partners and sponsors becoming active part of the success of the businesses which we're so proud to recognise. Last year, this year and next.
